Evergreen Landing
Swerhone / Avalon Architecture & Planning, LLC worked closely with Gray & Associates, retail real estate specialists, in developing this 31.2-acre site in Vancouver, WA. The plan consists of 340,800 SF of retail, with 170,000 SF of Big Box and 170,800 SF of Specialty Box. Parking at 4/1000 ratio.
Auto Town
This auto dealership is a replacement building situated along a busy highway commercial corridor, among many other auto retailers. The site has a dramatic sloped condition, dictating a multi-level approach. Swerhone Architecture worked closely with the national dealer and the local owner to design a compact urban automotive service center. This approx. 15,000 SF facility features an innovative showroom, sales offices, service write-up, a 6-bay service center, lunch and locker room, and an extensive parts department.
Chrio-Pysio
Chiropractic Clinic Physiotherapy Offices Pilates/ Yoga Studios We have worked with local practitioners, such as chiropractors and physiotherapists, in the planning and design of their facilities. From the reception desk, waiting area, personal treatment rooms, common cardio areas, equipment storage, laundry services, and administrative areas. We understand the flow of clients, privacy considerations, and room ambiance, including lighting, color selection, and equipment layouts. We spend time listening to the facility professionals and assist in developing the desired space programming, adjacency, circulation, and furniture layout that align with their business plan.
Dish Network
Swerhone Architecture worked directly with the owner, Mr. Ron Jones, to develop his tenant’s plans and specifications. The project was challenged by way of current energy codes pertaining to conditioned space inside a freeze-protect-only warehouse space. The tenant improvements were conducted through two phases, for speed of occupancy and function. Phase-1: 4,904 SF warehouse and storage for the company’s operations; service vehicles will be loaded for delivery in the field. An independent unisex ADA-compliant restroom was included. Phase-2: 1,425 SF of general office area with private office use, group work areas, a break room, and additional restrooms.
Dr. Gray
Swerhone Architecture worked with Dr. Gray & her staff to expand the practice into the adjacent 1,000 SF space for use as a medi-spa. The medical staff would have internal access from the existing medical practice to the spa but with separate entries and waiting areas. The scope of work also included the expansion and upgrading of the existing surgical suite. The “clean” & “soiled” rooms were added, enhancing functionality and regulatory surgical use. The total medical practice and spa area is 2,640 SF.
Hand & Stone Spa
Swerhone Architects worked with a client with a very clear specific set of plans and specs. The value we added to the project was the development speed of the documents, knowledge of the codes, and thorough documents to speed up the permitting process. This is a 2,689 SF Health and Personal Care Facility including a waiting area, reception, office space, and treatment suites.
KLP Office
This beautiful lower-level, daylight concrete space provides a very comfortable executive office environment. The 5,000 SF provides several private office areas, including a well-appointed kitchen, shower room, and workout area. Client/Owner Cindy Austin-Dawson provided all interior design expertise. As the principal architect at Avalon at the time, Derrick helped with construction details, permitting, and space planning.
Minnehaha Corporate Center
Fabrication Products Inc., the owner, secured Derrick Swerhone, Avalon Architects to layout this 11.28 acre industrial site with (5) separate buildings, associated parking, loading facilities, and landscape design. The main building, bldg. #1, was designed for the owner’s steel fabrication business with a total of 23,160 sf, including a 1,560 sf office area. This building operates with (8) 2-ton jib cranes and (2) 4-ton overhead cranes. The other (4) buildings, (2) at 6,625 sf and (2) at 10,600 sf, were designed as factory industrial moderate-hazard structures flex spaces.
