Derrick has provided his clients with innovative architectural design since 1993. Initially operating as Derrick Swerhone Architecture (1993-1997), Principal at Harder Swerhone Architects, LLC (1997-1999), and a Principal at Avalon Architecture & Planning, LLC (1999-2010).

We are a full service design firm with a broad range of project experiences. We do not specialize in one particular niche, we approach each project as a unique opportunity for innovation and discovery.

The practice is diverse, with expertise in commercial/retail, institutional, industrial, and multi-family. In addition he offers services in all aspects of land use planning and will guide you through the site and building permitting process.
