Columbia Dance Studio

Columbia Dance Ensemble (CDE) has partnered with Swerhone Architecture to reimagine a former auto service station into a dynamic new home for dance. This 10,000-SF industrial space, with its high ceilings, exposed timber trusses, and skylights, provides the perfect setting for movement and creativity.

The renovated facility will feature three modern studios designed for ballet, jazz, and contemporary dance instruction. Additional amenities include dressing rooms, showers, prop and costume storage, private offices, and a retail area. The building also includes two specialty retail spaces (1,085 SF and 820 SF) available for lease along Broadway, activating the streetscape and enhancing the downtown experience.

CDE offers a variety of dance classes at its existing Vancouver location, with most sessions held in the mornings, evenings, and weekends. The new facility will bring increased activity to the downtown area outside of traditional business hours, contributing to a more vibrant community.

Currently under construction, this transformation will provide CDE with a purpose-built space to inspire dancers for years to come.
