The project Owner’s/Partners are a local donation and a non-profit. The slip owner had generously donated an existing house boat, on a premium slip located on the Columbia River. The slip comes with title. A 40’x60’ float and an existing home. It was quickly determined that the existing structure had been compromised beyond redemption, and total demolition was warranted.
The new design is in compliance with the moorage HOA, CC&R’s, and City of Gresham Municipal Codes, Section 10.60.050,

The front entry door is covered and located directly adjacent and perpendicular to the wharf, creating a semi-private arrival point. The transitional entry foyer; with high clerestory ceiling which ascends up the centrally located stair. The house then opens up to wide views of the river, with expansive deck area. The Architect relied on the years of townhouse design, compact living space combined with spacious entertainment areas and exterior access. The ceilings are at 9’, with open timber post and beam construction. Glass Commercial 12’ overhead doors, open directly to the river and deck, off of the great room, serving as living/dining space open to the kitchen work area.

This 3-bedroom home, complete with a very spacious master suite with private deck.

The project provides an opportunity to explore new and alternative energy strategies. The Architect will be working closely with mechanical consultants & suppliers to look at sustaining energy sources for this dwelling.
